Scottish Shortbread

This is a delightfully simple recipe.


•  6 oz Unbleached flour
•  6 oz Unsalted butter
•  5 tbsp Powdered sugar
•  ½ tsp Sea salt


Preheat oven to 300°F.
Mix all ingredients in a food processor. The dough will be loose and look like coarse cornmeal.
Press the dough into a 9 in. (or equivalent size) buttered baking dish. Prick top all ocer with a fork, about 1 inch part.
Bake in oven until shortbread is a pale golden brown on the edges, approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
Cool and cut into required shapes.

Additional Information

It tastes even better when the shortbread is "aged" for a day or two in a closed container.
